I purchased my first road bike in 2009, and this changed my weekends forever. My physical health improved, and I’ve gained greater emotional intelligence from the shared experiences, all the hours in the saddle and attempting things I didn’t know I could achieve. My stories included here are my own, very personal experiences, I’m not an expert, a coach or a nutritionist, I’ve just had a go at riding my bike a few times and found out what works through trial and error.
I live and cycle in the UK, but I’ve also put my bike in a box and travelled to some of Europe’s other cycling hotspots. I regained my fitness after pregnancy thanks to my bike, and I now have an enthusiastic 8yr old cycling buddy who encouraged me to start cyclocross racing. When I joined my first cycling club in 2012, I was the only female cyclist in the club, so I went on a little mission to find other women cycling in my community to join the ride. I’d love you to join in, too; you could share your own experiences by commenting on one of my stories.
Thank you for checking in.
